Three weeks ago on President's Monday there were two explosions out in the street by my house. The gas pipes in the man holes burned out. As a consequence, I've had no hot water, and no gas. Con Edison customer relations has never contacted me, and they want me to make some expensive expenditures in my basement even though there is nothing wrong in my house. Monopolies are evil, and Con Edison is an evil monopolistic monster!
In addition there have been work crew here working with jack hammers at obscenely early times of the day.
